- שָׁנַק
- שָׁנַק(Shaf. of אנק or חנק), Pl. שִׁנֵּק to strangle, choke. Pesik. R. s. 36; Yalk. Is. 359 ומְשַׁנְּקִין את רוחך בעול and they shall choke thy spirit (curb thy energies) with a yoke. Hithpa. הִשְׁתַּנֵּק to be strangled. Pesik. Zutr., Ḥuck., p. 244 ולא היינו מִשְׁתַּנְּקִין בצמא and we should not have been choked by thirst.
